Chorus-2014, the annual mega-cultural festival of Sharda University and one of the largest and the most glamorous fests of Northern India, is all scheduled to throng the university.

The 3-day coruscating feast that will be flagged off on Feb. 21 will witness a cocktail of events, covering art, entertainment, cultural diversity, fashion shows, informative workshops, social awareness  and numerous other scintillating programs.

The theme for this year is Carnival. Carnival is a festival of colours, which is transformed into costumes, calypso, steel band music, dance and different food and art. It attracts many people from various sections of the society. As per information provided by the organizers on the official website of Chorus (http://www.chorusfest.in), the Chorus team has always been fascinated by carnival rides. Carnival holds in itself something that amazes everyone. It further states, “For us, it’s precisely the theme and excitement for carnivals that made us adopt it as a theme for Chorus 2014.”

The long list of celebrities and guests further adds to the excitement and voracious wait for the students, organizers and everyone else involved with it. Among the celebrities are, popular Bollywood singer Sukhwinder Singh, film star Vaani Kapoor, popular comedian Sunil Grover aka Gutthi who rose to fame through Comedy Nights with Kapil.

Like every year, one of the popular event Rowdies would be judged by the MTV Roadies’s popular duo Raghu and Rajiv. Om Puri, the legendary actor, will be judging Nukkad Natak, another popular event of the annual fest. Marketing and publicizing Chorus-2014 has also been given the utmost importance. The organizers have adopted various techniques for it that includes sponsoring the Facebook page of Chorus, organizing online games etc.

As part of its publicity tactic, on 7th Feb. ’2014, an exhibition cricket match was organized between Chorus 11 and Chikee 11 (The Winners of Inter Hostel Cricket Match).

Be it buying new attires and other stylish articles, the exhilaration of the students is quite evident from their preparation. The euphoric aura of the entire university has completely transformed to a festive mood and everyone is waiting for 21st of February.
