The Department of Mechanical Engineering is headed by Dr. Achhaibar Singh, a. Other Professors in the Department include those with rich academic, research, administrative, and professional experience such as with National Institutes of Technology (NITs), India Institute of Science (IISc.), and reputed public and private Universities in USA and India. The Professors are also regarded well by their peer bodies and had been conferred life-time Fellowships along with life-time Memberships in various professional bodies. More faculty members with professional experience with IITs are expected to join the Department shortly.
Close monitoring of the progress of the B.Tech. students is ensured by a team of Research Associates and Teaching Assistants (TAs) employed in the department. All the labs are staffed with technical staff having vast experience in the Industry or with labs in top academic Institutions, who assist students in performing practicals and experiments. Professional excellence, Self-Discipline, Personal attitude, and all around development of students is encouraged by the Department throughout their stay.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering offers Regular Programmes in:

The Department also offers enrollment in B.Tech at Sharda University under Lateral Entry/ Migration, directly in the 2nd year. A convenient option to do Post Graduation at Sharda University for a regular faculty at any approved University/Institution or an Industry-sponsored Candidate is our M.Tech. - Modular Programme. All B.Tech. programmes make use of e-Learning methodologies in the classrooms, Wi-fi connectivity, Learning Management System(LMS), and Laptops/Computers to provide thorough exposure to students in nationally and Internationally evolving pedagogies.

The Department is also in the process of upgrading current laboratories and establishing new ones including CNC Machines & Robotics, Fluid Mechanics, and Automobile Engineering using state-of-the-art machinery and equipments.
The Department has an UG enrollment of over 250 students in 2nd year, B.Tech. (Mechanical) and about 400 students in 1st year in B.Tech. (Mechanical), while over 50 students are presently enrolled in 1st year in B.Tech. (Automobile). PG Students are currently pursuing M.Tech. and Ph.D. in the Department of Mechanical Engineering under both the Regular and Modular Streams.
