School of Art, Design, and Media Studies

The School of Art, Design, and Media Studies at Sharda is an interdisciplinary environment that aims to nurture creative professionals for the twenty-first century. We believe that design and media experts of the future have to be versed in multiple media, their interrelationships and the various theoretical paradigms that inform them. The school ensures that our students learn to critically engage theory and practice, and that we inculcate in our students the value of studying the creative arts in a collaborative and integrated manner.

The educational curricula of the school embody the investigative and collaborative philosophy of the School. The Foundation Year is made common to all entering students. Students go through a series of studios and skill workshops on broader ideas and practices that structure the creative fields of Art, Design and Media. From the following year students are free to choose a major and a minor area of interest from the many concentrations that are available within the School. The objective is to allow students to forge themselves as with broad intellectual abilities while having highly specialized skill sets.

Our faculty comprises of academicians from internationally renowned universities such as Cornell University, University of Cincinnati, Ecole Des Beaux Art, Paris, University of Manitoba, Jamia Milia Islamia, Jawaharlal Nehru University, National Institute of Design, Delhi College of Art, as well as leading journalists, media experts and designers from all over the country. With the campus being in close proximity to Delhi, we have access to the best minds from across the country and the globe. Our committed and energetic faculty, staff and students form a diverse, creative, and collaborative community within Sharda University.
