The Research and Technology Development Centre is being headed by Dr. S. K. Mishra, founder Director of RTDC. The Director is responsible to foster the R&D programme in premises in all the streams of Science and Technology. Dr. Mishra is responsible for basic research and technology development under institute-industry tie-up collaborative R&D programme. Dr. Mishra has published more than 50 research papers (including conferences) and has six patents to his credit (four more are under finalization). He has also more than 200 research citations including citations in books. His research and academic accomplishment includes as Chief Editor of Journal of Scientific and Technical Research, Edited of book on Nanotechnology, Convener of International COSPAR Workshop and National Seminars, Consultant of Industry, Member of Advisory Board of Mutlidiscilpinary Research Centre, Investigator and collaborator of six Research Projects of Govt. of India (Costing around 4.0 Crores), Life Member of Materials Research Society of India.

Under his leadership, the University has successfully launched higher studies post graduate M. Tech. Ph. D. and five years dual degree BS-MS programmes and Business Incubation Centre approved by Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, Govt. of India at the University. He is an innovator of project funded by DSIR.

Prior to joining Sharda University, Dr. Mishra has been working on re-writable optical data storage technology at Moser Baer India Limited (world’s second largest digital data technology processes for manufacturing of phase change data storage media) for several years. He has been innovative in settling issues arose out of phase transition behaviour of dielectrics, composites, nano materials and phase change materials. He has also participated as in many national and international forum as a representative of the organization. Apart from this, he has also represented several scientific meetings and conferences as a Member of Advisory Committee, Member of Organizing Committee, Session Chair, Chief Guest of Science Quiz and many others.
