Dr Prem Vashistha has had an extremely commendable career graph with a solid teaching experience of more than 40 years. He has worked on a wide range of Research in areas of Economics and Policy Issues like the Agricultural Economics & Rural Development, Health Economics, Human Resource Development, Poverty, Economic Demography, Subsidy, Economic Reforms in Fertilizer, Power and Irrigation Sectors, and Public Distribution Systems. Dr. Vashistha is also the member of several committees of Government Of India, the Planning Commission, Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Food.

As a consultant he is also associated with the World Bank, UNDP, ILO, IFPRI. As an editor of a Book – Commonalities and Complementarities in Asia and Pacific Region, ADIPA, Kuala Lumpur, 1990, he has achieved yet another milestone in the field of education and knowledge.

Recently his research is related to the new experiments in the reform in Targeted Public Distribution System (funded by the World Bank).
